Learning as I Go
Strategies, Systems, and Tactics
In preparation for an upcoming webinar, I've been reflecting on different marketing systems I've developed for my teams over the years and what problems they've actually solved for us to improve efficiency and output.
One has been the Content Repurposing Framework I shared about on LinkedIn last week.
This has been one of the best frameworks for helping my team get the most out of our content.
My process used to involve creating one piece of content for a singular, specific purpose. Which is great, until I realized I was getting burned out trying to reinvent the wheel every time I needed to schedule or share content on repeat.
So the process of developing an anchor piece that the rest of my content ecosystem could build off of was a time and sanity-saver.
The way this works is that after setting our strategy, we would choose a content pillar to develop an anchor piece (this is a long-form blog, podcast, video, etc.). For example, a client who's a financial advisor may have a 5-minute video on "8 Things to Do Right Now to Ensure Your Investments are in a Healthy Place."
Then we take that long-form content and break it down into bite-sized bits for multi-channel distribution! Social content, email campaigns, sales enablement pieces, you name it.
This ensured:
- We're not reinventing content from scratch. We always have somewhere to pull from.
- Our messaging is consistent across channels.
- Our distribution is saturating every corner possible.
If this isn't a system you're implementing in your small teams, there's no better time to start than now (your team will thank you for it). And if you want to know more about how to get started, I'd love to help!
